Expertise, not overhead

Who We Are

Trodella & Lapping LLP is a boutique law firm that was formed in response to a simple fact: Clients want expertise and service from their lawyers, not unnecessary expense resulting from high overhead. Our firm was structured with that principle in mind. We deploy a flexible rate structure and focus on the fundamentals—know the client, understand its business, and provide innovative and practical solutions that add real value.

We worked for years at some of the most prominent global law firms, where we developed the trust of our clients to solve even the most difficult of their problems. Our commitment to providing attentive and thoughtful service to our clients has not changed. But our overhead has. We rely on the efficient use of technology to reduce costs, while ensuring that our clients have round-the-clock access to senior attorneys to provide guidance and counsel.

What We Do

We are problem solvers, advisors and advocates. We have committed ourselves to having a deep knowledge and understanding of our clients and their business. By doing so, we are able to offer practical, tailored legal advice, and can help solve problems strategically and efficiently.

Rob and Rich have more than forty-five years of combined legal experience across a variety of industries and practice areas. Rob was a finance and business restructuring partner at Jones Day, and a shareholder in the business restructuring group at Heller Ehrman; before that he was a real estate attorney with Baker & McKenzie.  Rich was a partner in Winston & Strawn's business restructuring group; before that he was a partner with Thelen LLP, where he served as the managing partner of that firm's San Francisco office as well as the chair of its bankruptcy department.

Although our combined experience allows us to counsel clients on a broad array of business issues and transactions, and to enforce their rights when controversies arise, we have a particular depth of expertise in several key practice areas.
